This is not a …
This is not a matter of “preference”. This is a matter of truth versus fiction. The truth is that no matter how much you like it, Chicago deep dish is not pizza. Its its own (imo revolting) thing, a flatbread that caters to the tastes of obese midwesterners.
There are some excellent flatbreads out there. American Flatbread in VT for instance is wonderful. However one can’t get around the fact that the core concept of deep dish is revolting.

Never heard of …
Never heard of Burt’s cuz I’m not too familiar with the burbs. My pizza of choice is Art of Pizza on Ashland or Ginos on Diversey. Uno’s is ok ay but not end all be all. Giordano’s is better than Uno’s though.

GOOD PIZZA IS IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND IN CHICAGO other than the deep dish,,,why BECAUSE IT IS ALL FAKE…MADE FROM SOYBEANS,,,yes chumps, the everything on a pizza can be made from soy beans with ethers and esthers and essences of whatever,,,thank adm,con agra, staley et al for BLAND FOOD,

yup true, preference, but deep dish is for burbanites lolz, u gotta admit. i mean, unless ur from the burbs. i see people all the time say “ohh! yeh im from chicago”, me: “where do u live?”, them: “glenview..”. im like girl thats NOT chicago. u get tha idea

You just used a great word…preference. I’m born and raised in Chicago too, but I love deep dish pizza. I have yet to try Burt’s, but I do love the thing.
It’s obviously a preference thing. It’s especially true for food.

i gotta agree, born n raised in chicago (north side) and i rarely have deep dish. its for suburbanites that come into the city and eat at like uno or giordannos. i prefer just regular or thin crust
