Travel to Chicago Downtown from Schaumburg?

I need to travel to Millenium Park in Chicago downtown for work from Schaumburg. Can any one please suggest what would be the best way to reach there? Is there a direct train to Mellenium park from Schaumburg?

I take Metra and then get on the 151 bus which drops you off right across the street from Millennium Park.

Check the CTA website. There’s probably a Metra train going from Schaumburg to Union Station, and from there you could hop on the El. I think the blue line goes by Millenium Park? (Don’t quote me on it though) I love using CTA’s trip planner or Google Maps. For the CTA one, just put in your beginning and ending address. For Google Maps, do the same and then select public transportation instead of by car. Good Luck!

It doesn’t seem like there is a direct train, since it doesn’t stop at the Millennium Park Metra Station. You could take the Metra from the Schaumburg Station (http://metrarail.com/metra/en/home/maps_schedules/metra_system_map/md-w/station.SCHAUM.html ) on the Milwaukee District Line (MD-W). You can get off the train at Union Station. Then, either take a cab, a westbound bus to Michigan Ave. or State St. (at Jackson, Monroe, or Washington streets), and/or walk to Millennium Park. See http://tripsweb.rtachicago.com/ to map out your public transport trip from Union Station.
