What is cheapest way to travel from Chicago to Toronto?

I have a chance of a life time to audition for a gig but since I found out about it today that gives me a week to plan. I’ve been able to book flights and hotels last minute because I was familiar with the area and knew the ins and outs but now I am entering unfamiliar territory. Bus, Amtrak, airlines with deals. This is the off season (I work in tourism/hospitality) so does anyone know of anything. Please no smart ass remarks or criticisms.
Thanks. Amntrak is the way I’m going. $94 each way and takes about a day to get there.

go to BookMe. You can compare prices on all the major travel sites from one location. It’s the only way you can guarantee the cheapest prices online.

Bus is usually the cheapest, but takes much longer.

The bus takes about 12 hrs each way, and is $151.30 RT if you buy your ticket on the Greyhound web site, $100 each way otherwise. The train is about the same price but is much slower, since you have to hang around in Buffalo between trains for most of the day. The plane is $317, same price on Air Canada, United, or American.

Remember that you now need a passport or passport-like document to travel between the US and Canada, even by land.
